On May 9, the final of the Fifth China Financial Career Accelerator 2026, jointly hosted by the Beijing Financial Development Promotion Centre and CFA Institute, concluded successfully. A five-member team of first-year students from Nankai University’s School of Finance, won the Gold Award after competing against top teams from around the world. Team member Guo Xugang also received the Best Individual Performance Award.
The team consists of five undergraduate students from the School of Finance’s Class of 2025: Guo Xugang, Tang Xinyuan, Liu Yuxi, Liu Enkai and Gao Junyang. Their entry, titled “A Full-Process Financial Engineering Solution for the Capitalization of Data Assets”, was supervised by Professor Liu Lanbiao from the School of Finance. Although all five team members are first-year students, they demonstrated clear division of responsibilities, efficient teamwork with solid professional expertise. Taking on a frontier topic in the data factor market, the team showed critical thinking and practical skills well beyond their year of study.
This year’s competition, themed “Finance Unleashes New Quality Productive Forces: Innovation and Coordinated Development of the Real Economy”, attracted 9,239 students from 529 universities worldwide, covering 48 countries and regions across five continents. Supported by 32 licensed financial institutions, the competition provided a high-level platform for young people around the world to spark innovation, strengthen practical skills and deepen international exchange.
